Balance

Spring was here for a week or so. One whole week of wonderful glorious weather – sunshine and warmth. But alas, the remainder of this week is supposed to be more rain and cold. That’s OK though. We certainly need the rain as this is one of driest winters on record and the water levels in the Great Lakes are down. It’s completely astounding to see how everything is so perfectly and delicately balanced by the hand of the Creator. Click here to see the verse that I’ve been enjoying this week. On a more down note, our house is up for sale by the owner and we might be forced to move. Not exactly fun, but again, part of a perfect plan. So for that, I can be thankful. Smile.

Lost in Translation

I missed last week – Oops. I guess that might mean that there was a very special person here in Ottawa which I was spending most of my time with, and I didn’t quite get around to keeping this page up-to-date. I can not apologize for this. Except to say that it was a wonderful week. 🙂 But do you know what I got to do today? I had an appointment at the Paul Menton Center to translate for a deaf mute in a meeting which she had. This was sort of neat. I haven’t been using my sign language in a very long time and I know that I’m getting rusty at it, so it was great to sit down and do some translating. I could do the translation quite quickly and hadn’t seemed to have lost much of this, but I was VERY slow at reading her responses. However, as time went on, I got a little quicker. So this was neat, and I hope I get to do more of it in the coming weeks.

Refreshing

Do you have any idea how wonderful it is to work out vigorously for 20 minutes, relax in a baking sauna, and then step out into the bright sunshine and cool air after a shower? I must say that this initial step out into the sunshine and breeze, is becoming one of the highlights of my day. It is positively incredible. The freshness of the air hitting you full in the face and reminding you that there is NO WAY that Creation could have “just happened”. It’s a miracle and more. Wow! I always used to think that winter was my favorite season, but I don’t know that I could be so sure now – Spring is sure hard to beat. Does it make sense that I’m now eager to get home so I can stand out in the back yard and barbeque chicken breasts for supper? Of course – just standing outside enjoying the brightness in the air and the warbling of the returning birds. Spring is here!
