Thoughts

I’ve missed almost a month now of updates for no better reason than that work has been extremely busy. Oops. I apologize. You know for certain that there can be no good in this. I believe that there must be something very wrong when work becomes the primary focus of my activities. “When Christ, WHO IS OUR LIFE, shall appear …” Colossians 3:4. So this weekend I was down at St. Thomas conference and it was absolutely wonderful. Not only were most of my family there (including my parents), but I thought the meetings were simply superb. The reading meetings were on John 15 and were very practical and needed, and I am very thankful that my Saviour allowed me to go. On the note of work however, someone recently shared a thought regarding Joseph which I enjoyed. If we were asked whether we wanted the Lord to lead in our life regarding a job, wouldn’t we say “yes”. I believe Joseph did this, yet if you look at what the Lord lead him through, it must have seemed horrible. He was sold by his brothers, tempted by his Master’s wife, thrown into jail for honesty and truthfulness and forgotten by those who he helped. And day by day, minute by minute, he did not know what the outcome of this was going to be. We can skip over a few chapters and see how it was all working out for good, but Joseph couldn’t do this. And through it all, he simply was allowing the Lord to direct in His life. My point regarding work, is that while it may not always be fun, in fact it might be downright horrible, but it will bring out fruit for the Lord if we trust and honour Him. Romans 8:28. What is the key? Email me if you think you know. It’s found I think in these two verses: Genesis 40:8 and Genesis 41:16. Otherwise, I’ll email you what I think it might be next week. Smile.
