Traffic

In a little over one week, I have had more than 30,000 hits on my Stellarite site. It’s been a lot of fun to watch the counts grow, although I suspect that a lot of this traffic is generated from other developers like myself that wander around the internet looking for new programs to browse. I’ve still been toying with the idea of tossing the design of this site and going with something more modern, but I always find that new designs are not always supported by those people with older browsers. It would be so much easier if I could just mandate that everyone was using IE 6.0 or Netscape 7.0. So if you’re not using one of these browsers … Heidi and I didn’t go too far with this week except to a million car places to find a replacement for her Neon. So far, we haven’t settled on anything, but hopefully we will soon. I really don’t think we can drive into Canada with my car right now, so we’ll definately need one before our planned trip to NS in March. Smile!

Fun Stuff

I suppose that one must be careful when the statement is made that big news is coming. I have had many comments and questions this past week relating to my off-the-cuff remark of last week. It’s surprising how people will interpret things. 🙂 No doubt I will disappoint them all when I actually tell you what the big news is. I was merely referring to my launch of the website and software:

http://www.stellarite.com

My only disappointment in the launch was that it was officially listed last Friday. I was hoping for a release early in the week, but I am relegated to the whims and clockwork of the sites delivering the listing. Regardless of this however, in the past four days I have accumulated just over 12,000 hits from well over 1000 unique people. I have received three emails from interested people and this count continues to grow. If nothing else, it has been fun to watch the interest. There are also those people who were attempting to break into my system to capture the source, but none were successful (as far as I know). Anyway, big news for me might not necessarily spell big news for you. Smile.

Sugar Carving

Work has returned with a BANG. Everything is go, go, go after an excellant last quarter. This means that the travel will surely increase throughout this week and next, and it will be a struggle to find those free minutes. On the plus side, Heidi and I were able to make it up to Maine this weekend where I went boarding at Sugarloaf for the first time this year. It was most excellant. I can’t say that it was all that warm (below 0F at the top without windshield), but the snow and runs were wonderful. It felt wonderful to be carving on the corduroy again, although it also meant the onset of a pretty nasty cold. Big news next week – check back.
